A permalink (permanent link) is a type of URL (Uniform Resource Locator) set up for a specific item of information, often a news story or weblog item. The eNetSC Journal has a permalink at the end of each blog entry so that you can reference a specific item of interest to you.
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, has a more detailed explanation on Permalinks.
MSN Spaces has a "Blog it" feature at the bottom of each blog entry that allows you to add that blog entry to your own blog on MSN Spaces. Wouldn’t it be great if you could use that same feature for other sites on the Internet? Well, you can!
The MSN Toolbar Suite Beta for Internet Explorer has a Spaces toolbar button to "Blog it" whenever you find information you want to add to your blog on MSN Spaces.
If you need assistance in customizing the MSN Toolbar Suite Beta for your browser, Toolbar Help is very useful.
Have you used the draft option of MSN Spaces when adding blog entries? It is a very helpful feature that allows you to create blog entries for future publication.
Selecting "Save as Draft" instead of "Publish Entry" will save your blog entry with the current date and time. However, when you later publish the blog entry, MSN Spaces will automatically update that blog entry with the date and time of publication.
If you have used other blog tools that require you to manually update the date and time on a draft entry if you want it to display the date and time of publication, you will like this feature of MSN Spaces!
The category option of MSN Spaces is a nice feature. It allows you to have up to 25 categories. Adding a new category is easy. Whenever you add an entry, you can select an existing category or add a new category for the entry.
Adding a category for your entry is optional but it is a very helpful feature for organizing your entries. Your list of categories can then be used to access all the entries on a specific topic. Very handy!
